Charlie X was a really complicated episode for us. We ended up talking about the US justice system, people with attraction to minors, the needs of the many vs the needs of the one… it was a real journey. We were very tortured by this ep. It’s social awkwardness, it’s puberty, it’s powerful, and it’s super cringy… do you want Charlie dead or do you feel for him? I’ve still got the heebie-jeebies.

The Enterprise drops in on the old couple that live out at the edge of town. You know the type: prefer to be alone, want you off their lawn. But when McCoy’s former lover turns out to be the last surviving member of this monster of the week species, we question a life form’s right to kill to survive.
